The Summer Party 1996 was held in the centre of Aalborg, Denmark. Out of the about 800 people expected, only some 300 paying attendants showed up. The German-French TV channel ARTE made a report from the party, and aired it on the 19th of November. Escom were to have been sponsors, but seeing as they went bankrupt on the second day of the party, that didn't happen. The prizes in the competitions also had to be drastically reduced, and as a result, two participants withdrew their productions.
