Dreamhack 1997 was held at Arena Kupolen in Borlänge, Sweden for the c64, amiga and pc scenes. Arena Kupolen is the largest indoor-arena in Sweden and the largest spherical building in Europe. The total area is about 14000 squaremeters, the ceiling height in the exhibition area is 24 meters and the diameter is 124 meters. The hall had space for 2000 computers, an exhibition area, a video hall and some sleeping halls. Telia delivered internet access at an estimate of at least 4mbit/s. 1500 visitors were expected, but in fact only 800 came.
